Andy Ankeny AIA

Associate

Upon graduating with a Master of Architecture from Montana State University, Andy returned to his hometown to join Carney Architects in 2000.  Having a family with a long history in the local construction industry, he has gained a broad working knowledge of custom residential systems and techniques for the Jackson climate.

Andy has an active role in the firm’s daily operations including overall project staffing, quality control and the technological infrastructure.  With his history and love of the area, Andy is interested in incorporating regional materials and forms into a more contemporary architectural aesthetic.  In coordination with firm principals and architectural interns, Andy has successfully guided projects to completion including Sundance Ridge Lot 8 Residence, Indian Springs Ranch Residence, Westside Medical Center, and the Split Office Suite.

Recently he has completed his own home, which he co-designed with his architect wife and built with his family. He enjoyed the challenge of designing a unique home in a highly restrictive subdivision while helping to evolve the covenants and the Architectural Review Committee’s interpretation of “appropriate” mountain style.  He served on a Town of Jackson committee that created new architectural standards for development in the downtown district as well as on the Alpine Meadows Architectural Review Committee.   He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.  He is licensed in the state of Wyoming.
