Kevin Burke AIA, LEED AP
PrincipalAs managing principal within the firm, Kevin directs the financial, business and staff administration of the firm, and maintains an organized infrastructure as well as a motivated team as the practice continues to grow. Aside from his everyday management duties, Kevin has an affinity for the technical aspects of building within our unique climate and mentors best-practice principles of building science, ensuring high technical standards for all projects. As both a principal and LEED Accredited Professional, he is an advocate of sustainable design, furthering the firm’s commitment to environmental integrity through innovative green building techniques.
Kevin was born and raised in New Hampshire, but with both parents being native to Idaho, and yearly trips to visit extended family in the state, he quickly developed a deep appreciation for the dramatic landscapes of the region. After graduating from the School of Architecture at Roger Williams University in 1990, he honed his skills at several firms specializing in commercial and custom residential projects in Idaho and Wyoming. He brought his expertise in project management and technical building to Carney Architects in 1999.
In addition to his management and technical guidance, Kevin manages several large-scale projects within the firm. Currently he is directing work on two residential compounds in 3-Creek Ranch, an expansion at the Jackson Hole Airport and an employee housing development in Teton Village. Most recently, Kevin completed the Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve in Grand Teton National Park, the first LEED Platinum building in Wyoming and in a National Park.
Kevin is active within the community and sits on the Pathways Taskforce – a volunteer Town and County board fostering non-motorized transportation and he is a volunteer coach with the Special Olympics Wyoming winter ski program. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. He is licensed in the state of Wyoming and is a LEED Accredited Professional of the United States Green Building Council.
