Over the past 17 years, Carney Architects has grown to accommodate a staff of twenty. While the firm structure has evolved over the years, the organization still maintains an informal and collegial atmosphere, allowing a free flow of ideas and high morale among a talented and dedicated team of six licensed architects, interns and support staff. The firm encourages individual creativity and teamwork in an open environment, a balance of academia and professionalism.
The collaborative approach within the studio encourages creativity and respect for the client's program, and has yielded many local, regional and national awards for the firm and its members; the firm also received the 2009 AIA Western Mountain Region Firm of the Year Award. Through awards and publications, the work has contributed to the profession by raising public awareness of the benefits of good design.
