Local Architects Win Three Wyoming Design Awards

Carney Architects, a Jackson architectural firm, has received three awards from the American Institute of Architects 2000 Wyoming Design Awards program.  Carney Architects has distinguished itself by being the only firm in Wyoming to receive two Honor awards.  These two Honor awards were presented to Carney Architects for projects located in the Jackson area, whose owners wish to remain anonymous.  John and Nancy Carney were principals-in-charge of both projects; one being a private residence and the other a shop/office on a private compound.  Jim Cappuccino was the project architect for the private residence.  Eric Logan was the project architect for the shop/office.    Carney Architects also received an Honorable Mention for the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort’s Bridger Center, a retail store and , located in Teton Village at the base of the ski mountain.  John Carney was the principal-in charge of the Bridger Center; Eric Logan was the project architect. The Awards were presented on February 29, 2000 at the annual AIA Wyoming Conference in Cheyenne.  John Carney and Jim Cappuccino traveled to Cheyenne to receive their honors at an awards ceremony held during the conference.   AIA awards are generally regarded as the highest form of recognition the architectural profession can bestow.
