Carney Architects Receives Two Regional Design Awards
Carney Architects received two awards from the American Institute of Architects 2008 Western Mountain Region Design Awards program. The firm won an Award of Merit for the Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve, a 7000 square foot Interpretive Center located in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming. A second Award of Merit was received for the Queen’s Lane Wine Silo located on a residential compound in Jackson, Wyoming.
Of the 200 entries accepted from across the nation, these projects represent two of only 16 chosen by an esteemed jury of architects. The Awards were presented on October 24, 2008 at the annual AIA Western Mountain Region Conference in Santa Fe, New Mexico. John Carney was present to receive the honors at an awards ceremony held during the conference. Other winners in this year's program included nationally known architects such as richard+bauer architecture, SmithGroup, and Anderson Mason Dale. AIA awards are generally regarded as the highest form of recognition the architectural profession can bestow.
