Granite Ridge Lodges
Teton Village, Wyoming
Completion Date: 2002
The 21 Lodges at Granite Ridge were designed for one of the last large sites overlooking the Teewinot ski run at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. The 4,200 sf units have four bedrooms, four baths, a powder room, media room, and a two-car garage.
The masterplan optimized use of the site by placing nine townhouses along the slope and the remaining twelve oriented toward various views of the mountains and valley. Sloping topography led to a vertical organization of three story buildings with the main living area being placed on the second floor to capture dramatic views. The third floor has a generous master suite oriented toward the primary mountain views and a guest suite facing the valley.
The architectural expression and exterior materials took their cues from the rustic building tradition of the National Parks, using wood siding, cedar shingles, stone, and heavy timber trusses. The look of these structures set the tone for later buildings in the area such as the Four Seasons Hotel & Resort on the site just south of the Lodges.
