Riva Ridge Residence
Jackson, Wyoming
Completion Date: 2003
Perched high above the valley, looking northwest from Jackson Hole to Yellowstone National Park, this 12,855 sf residence sits surrounded by spectacular mountain views. The main house, along with a separate guest house and a four-bay garage structure are organized around garden courtyards that give a familiar scale to an otherwise vast setting. A south-facing gallery in the main house runs parallel to a trellised sun shelter bordering the gardens, connecting the length of the house as it extends across the hillside.
Natural materials of stone and timber marry the structure with its native surroundings. Influenced by the Craftsman style, rich details are found throughout the house, including finely crafted woodwork, custom designed light fixtures made from mica and blackened steel, and fireplace screens that mirror the design of the fixtures. A wine room and an in-home theater are just a few of the unique features that make this house exceptional.
