Jackson Hole Mountain Resort
Bridger Center
Teton Village, Wyoming
Completion Date: 1998, 2002, 2005
The master planning process for the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort entered the new millennium with a major expansion. One of the first improvements was a new gondola and associated base facilities including a 20,000 sf skier services building. The program called for ski-related retail, rental, and repair shop, a daycare center, ticketing services, and offices and lockers for the Ski School Staff.
In addition to achieving its functional requirements, the building design serves to draw visitors from the lower parking lot, bringing them up a generous and inviting covered stair to the Bridger Gondola and Teewinot Quad lift. Being the first building in the expansion, it was intended to establish a new language for the architectural character of Teton Village that forms a link to its rustic mountain roots while anticipating the future needs of the resort.
