Friess Associates Office Building
Jackson, Wyoming
When Friess Associates, a major financial firm, decided to build a flagship office for it's Brandywine Fund in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, we were asked to design a building in the grand rustic lodge style, drawing its inspiration from the historic lodges and National Park Buildings of the Mountain West. The space had to facilitate an intense, fast-paced, interactive working style, offer amenities to its staff, and accommodate an advanced communication system without a high-tech feeling.
A central atrium lit by clerestory windows and surrounded by upper-story offices and a balcony walkway create the feeling of an interior courtyard. The use of exterior materials, such as logs, rough-sawn beams, and operable windows in the atrium, reinforces the sense of bringing the outdoors inside.
